Explore the Sanctuary of Poseidon in Poros Greece
The sanctuary of Poseidon is among the top archaeological sites which are among the top places that you can visit while you are in Poros. Visit the Holy Monastery of Zoodochos Pigi
This monastery can be found not close to Askeli Beach and it was established in 1720 after Lakosvos II, the Metropolitan of Athens drank from the nearby spring which was believed to cure his lithiasis. The monastery can be found on a pine-clad slope that overlooks the water. You can explore the main church which is filled with art from the 17th and 18th centuries. Some of the top things not to miss here are iconostasis, Panagia of the Zoodochos Pigi. You are going to see the mind-blowing Christ Pantocrator which was composed around 1780 on the western wall of the church. The monastery also houses the tombs of Nikolis Apostolis and Manolis Tombazis who are two decorated naval commanders from the Greek War of Independence.
